Hey I'm Michael! I've been an athlete my entire life. I played every sport growing up and eventually went on to play football at a small college in New England. While I do miss game days, I slowly came to find that I actually enjoyed the process of training & practice more than the games themselves. After graduation, I took a job as a personal trainer while I shifted gears athletically into competing in the sport of triathlon... which culminated in the completion of Ironman New Zealand. I have been personal training since 2002 & a CrossFit coach since 2011.
As a lifetime student of the health & fitness field, there have been many turning points. The most recent one came when my son Jack was born. I'm a 43 year old father of a one year old. So while I still hit PR's in the gym from time to time, the new perspective of living a long healthy life so I can be an active part in my son's life for a long time to come has taken precedence. I would like to gift everyone with the ability to remain strong and active their entire lives.
I never set out to be a coach, it just kind of happened because I absolutely love everything about fitness. As nerdy as it sounds, I would spend free time as a kid reading every book about strength training and fitness I could get my hands on... I'm just as nerdy today, but instead of books it's YouTube. lol. I'd say my strength as a coach is taking the complex problem of fitness and simplifying it for people based on their needs.
