I served for 20 years in the Navy; first as a hospital corpsman and then as a naval flight officer. I first started doing CrossFit in 2018. Before that, I had done a number of different workout routines at standard “globo gyms”, but I found it difficult to stay consistent and wasn’t achieving the results I wanted. I wanted to try CrossFit because I knew it would get me to train in areas I had been ignoring and I liked the idea of having a coach to help me during my workouts. Ultimately, I discovered how much more enjoyable working out can be when you have a community working out with you and encouraging you along the way.
I started coaching because I want to help people find the same benefits that I have found in CrossFit. I know the excitement of learning a new movement or hitting a new PR and I know how important my coaches were in getting me there. Most importantly, I want to make going to the gym something all of our athleteslook forward to as much as I do.
My favorite WOD is Murph. I love its significance, its simplicity and the movements. I love that it appears as a mountain, but if you keep climbing one step at a time, you will reach the summit.
